A couple days ago I took my boyfriend and my roommate down behind the MU baseball field to take photos. I absolutely loved this spot, it was so quiet and peaceful there. In all of the photos I loved how the overall feel of the images were warm and comforting. It was a very enjoyable experience and it was just such a nice day out. The best part about it all is that I actually never knew about this place before because my friend told me of this location. My roommate was really confused as to where I was taking her and my boyfriend. A good life lesson from this would be that you just have to trust in yourself that you are on the right path or that you are going to the right place.
As the time swiftly passes by, I find myself struggling to find more photography opportunities. It feels as if whenever I want to take photos of someone, something pops up and all plans are pushed off for later. It was nice this past weekend to slowly get back into the hang of what I was used to last year. I’ve tried to take more artistic photos in the moments I have around campus, like photos of flowers and the arch. I even took a photo of Christy, my roommate and charlotte, my apartment-mate. It was perfect too. Photography is kind of weird like that though. Sometimes I can turn around and my friends will be doing something crazy or something just worth taking a photo. Occasionally my friends will look at me funny, but I think they are starting to get used to my random, sporadic ideas. I also went to an RA’s program tonight. It was a water pong program! I had fun, and I was glad I went. Since it was a program run by my boyfriend and the other RA (max) on their floors, it was super entertaining. RA Joe and I won a couple times, despite the many times we lost! It was really a blast though. There was food, drinks, and music! So besides playing around on photoshop editing the photo of my roommate and my apartment-mate, I went to the program for my boyfriend. Now I’m laying in bed wondering how my weekend is already a third over! Even more crazy, it is hard to think that a year ago, Christy had not even became my roommate yet. Time has been flying by so fast, I barely get a second to think… Or time to question why this website Kraze keeps sending me granola and nuts (4 boxes worth) when I signed up for only one free box. Besides the fact that I don’t understand why they keep sending me boxes, the snacks inside are appetizing. All of the mixes are really creative and different. Most of their mixes are peanuts, cashews, some kind of dried fruit, and occasionally a weird food I have never tasted before. I would definitely recommend getting them if you are into that kind of healthy, good tasting, granola stuff. In other news, in addition to the insane amounts of boxes from them that I have received, I have also gotten my jeans I bought from eBay. Amazing enough, they are a size 8 and they fit me, when my size at the beginning of summer was 14! Overall the past week has been pretty fantastic. There is a lot going on and I enjoy every last bit of all the stuff that happens!
More photos of our room!
Photos from visit to Washington, DC
This Labor Day weekend I’m off campus! I drove a good four hours today to go down and visit my dad in Maryland. It was nice because my brother also came down with his girlfriend. We decided to go out to eat at this Turkish, Mediterranean restaurant that was actually very pretty inside. The entrees varied anything from pitas to lamb (Ew!) so I ordered a quinoa mix. It was red quinoa with eggs, peppers, spices, etc. It was very delicious! Such an exciting weekend! Tomorrow (Sunday) we are going down to D. C. Where I will finally get to see the art museum and the new portrait photography exhibit in a museum down there! Sadly,—and it is almost inhumane or tragic— I forgot to grab my camera as I was walking out the door at my apartment. I couldn’t smack myself enough for forgetting my camera. What’s a photographer without her camera?! Anyways, I will have to resort to maybe using a disposable camera or my phone. I’m looking forward tomorrow. There will be more posts to come!
So far everything has been going very well. All the students had our first week of classes this week and it was rough but I think I’ve got a good set-up this year.
I really am enjoying my living status at the woodlands apartments! It’s really nice to have our own kitchen to use and our own bathroom for just christy and I.
Before the upperclassman came, the freshman moved in. And of course, all of us sports teams helped with it all. Sadly one of the photographers got me at a bad time, and I do not look too good. Overall though it was a fun experience and I met a lot of cool freshman.
In other news, the skies have been gorgeous at night. Every day it seems the sunset has been getting more and more vibrant!
My friends and I also went out to support the men’s soccer at their game Friday night. It was super exciting and crazy! A lot of people came out to support the team as they fought for our victory.
Here’s a list of all of the activities that are coming up soon for all students! Definitely looking forward the mic nights, bingo nights, and most importantly that beach trip! Maybe this year I’ll try to go!
Just moved in this past Monday and it feels so good to be back! I can’t wait until another week for when I am able to see all my friends. In the meantime I’ve been playing tennis with the tennis team, with practice two times a day. This year I am staying in the woodlands apartments! I am in a nine person apartment, so it could be a little crazy sometimes but I think everything will go well. More posts to come soon! Freshman move in Friday! Welcome all freshman!
